The land bank offers homes that need renovation to people who want to buy and fix them. You agree to do the renovations within a set time period. The land bank staff will review your timeline and budget. The deed stays in escrow until your renovations are complete and you get a Certificate of Occupancy.

What to expect: Contact the agency to apply. You will need to get all permits, fix any Point of Sale violations, and complete the renovations within the agreed time frame. You pay for all labor, materials, and supplies. If you finish on time, you pay the purchase price and closing fees to the escrow agent. If you don't finish in time, the land bank keeps the deed and you lose your money spent on renovations.
