This program offers money to help you pay for gas, electric, and water bills. You can get up to $750 each year for all utilities combined.

Who can use it
You must live in Cuyahoga County and your household income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. You also need to be a parent, caregiver, legal guardian, or legal custodian of a child aged 18 or younger (or still in high school), or be pregnant in your third trimester or later.

What to expect
The money can pay for overdue bills to keep your service on or to turn it back on. You can also use it to set up new service if you're moving.
What to bring
  • Completed application form Proof of address Proof of income received by any member of the household during the previous 30 days. Examples of acceptable verification are pay stubs
  • letter from the employer
  • award letter
  • and self-employment records (income ledger or self-declaration). If needed
  • agency can verbally confirm income with employer or other income source - or with the applicant (if self-employed). Proof of ALL liquid assets (verbal or written) Proof of the applicant's change in circumstance leading to the current need and written proof that the applicant made a significant attempt to use other community services to meet the need presented. If pregnant
  • need a medical statement verifying pregnancy. In most cases
  • will need a disconnect notice (see WHO QUALIFIES for exceptions). For water bill: if the applicant's name is not on the bill
  • will need a copy of lease stating that tenant is responsible to pay water bill. In addition
  • if the cost of the documented need exceeds the amount of PRC
