This program helps you pay rent. You pay about 30-40% of your income towards rent, and the program covers the rest.

Who can use it
Your eligibility depends on your family size and total yearly income. For example, a single person's income can't be more than $34,800. You also need to pass a criminal background check and be an adult US citizen or eligible immigrant.

What to expect
The rent help stays with you, so you can use it for any private market home that passes inspection and where the landlord agrees to the program. They don't help with rental deposits.
What to bring
  • FOR PRELIMINARY APPLICATION: An active private email account Social Security number Names and dates of birth of all household members Income of each household member For Formal Application (if selected in a lottery): Current State Driver's License or State Identification for all adults 18+ Social Security cards for all household members Birth certificates for all children under age 18 Non-citizens must provide either: Resident Alien Card

  • Temporary Resident Card
  • or Employment Authorization Card Proof of Income for all household members (dated within the last 30 days of submission). There are a variety of documents depending on the client's situation that the agency will accept to verify income (information will be provided once the client is selected in a lottery). Proof of Assets (dated within last 30 days): for example
