Housing Enhancement Loan Program (Help)

A program of Cuyahoga County Department Of Development

This program gives home improvement loans through Key Bank or Huntington Bank. You can borrow between $3,000 and $200,000 for repairs, remodeling, landscaping, and other home improvements. The interest rate is 3% lower than regular bank rates. You can pay back the loan over up to 5 years, or up to 10 years if you borrow more than $12,500.

Who can use it: You must own a single-family, two-family, or multi-family home in Cuyahoga County. Your property taxes must be current. If you own a single or two-family home, it must have a tax value under $250,000. Mobile home owners are not eligible.

What to expect: You apply for the loan at any branch of Key Bank or Huntington Bank. You can also call for more information. The bank will make the credit decision based on their normal lending rules.
