Kinship Permanency Incentive Program (Kpip)
A program of Cuyahoga County Department Of Children And Family Services
This program gives short-term payments to relatives who have permanent legal custody of a child. You can get $525 per child at first, then $300 per child every six months. You can get up to eight payments total. This is not emergency help.

- Who can use it
- You can apply if you have permanent legal custody of a child under 18 who lives with you. You must live in Cuyahoga County. Your household income cannot be more than 300% of the federal poverty level. Having Power of Attorney or being an adoptive parent does not qualify.

- What to expect
- Call to ask for an application. You can leave a message with your name, phone number, and address. Staff will mail you the application. You must complete a home study, which includes a criminal background check with fingerprints for all adults in the home and a safety check of your house. You need to reapply every six months to keep getting payments. Help is not immediate and is not guaranteed.
