Student Services - Lunches/Work Permits

A program of Cleveland Metropolitan School District

The school district gives free breakfasts and lunches to all students. Students in after-school activities also get an afternoon snack. The district issues work permits to students aged 14-17.

Main office hours are M-F: 8:00am-5:00pm. Work permit office hours are M-F:8:30am-3:00pm
Who can use it
You must live in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District area, which includes most of Cleveland, parts of Brook Park and Garfield Heights, and all of Bratenahl, Linndale, and Newburgh Heights. You must have current immunizations and a current physical exam before school starts. Work permits are for students aged 14-17.

What to expect
To get school lunches, students fill out an application once while they are in the district. To get a work permit, call for information, visit the district website, or ask your school for an application. Once you fill it out, bring the completed packet in person to the district's work permit office.
