The shelter provides a safe place to stay, food, clothing, and other help for teens in trouble. It also offers short-term care for youth dealing with family crises like violence at home. Staff work to help youth find lasting solutions after they leave.

- Hours vary — see schedule below24 hrs a day, 7 days a week; Clients cannot leave the shelter without staff supervision or pre-arrangement. Length of stay is typically 1-15 days, or possibly longer for the shelter.
- Who can use it
- Teens ages 13 through 17 can use shelter and respite care. The hotline is open to anyone. You must choose to come voluntarily. The shelter will check for any outstanding warrants.

- What to expect
- Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to start the process - it is best to call before showing up. For shelter, you can walk in if there is space, but calling first is better. For short-term respite care, a parent or guardian must drop off the youth and sign paperwork. Staff will contact the legal guardian within 72 hours unless there is abuse, in which case the county will be told. You cannot leave the shelter without staff permission or a plan made ahead of time. Most stays last 1 to 15 days or longer.
