Terms of Service
Effective July 28, 2026
This page is written in English. Call 211 free, any hour, for help in your language.
This site is a free public directory of health and human services in Cuyahoga County, operated by United Way of Greater Cleveland. Using it is free, and you never have to create an account to search for help.
If this is an emergency, call 911
This website is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, having a medical emergency, or at risk of harming themselves or others, call 911. For the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call or text 988. To speak with a trained 211 navigator at any hour, free and confidentially, dial 211.
What this service is — and what it is not
This site publishes information about programs offered by independent agencies, nonprofits, faith communities, and government offices. We are a directory and a referral service.
- We do not provide food, housing, utility assistance, legal services, medical care, or financial assistance ourselves.
- We do not determine whether you are eligible for any program. Only the agency running the program can do that.
- Listing an agency is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a guarantee of the quality, safety, or availability of that agency's services.
- Nothing on this site is legal, medical, financial, immigration, or other professional advice.
Accuracy of listings
We work hard to keep listings current, and many carry a date showing when they were last verified. Even so, hours change, funding ends, waitlists open and close, and requirements shift without notice. Always call ahead before traveling to a location. We provide listings on an "as is" basis and cannot promise that any particular program will be open, have capacity, or serve you.
If you find something wrong, please tell us — corrections from the community are one of the main ways this directory stays useful. Call 211 or contact us at [privacy contact email].
Acceptable use
You may use this site freely for yourself, for someone you are helping, or in the course of your work at a partner agency. You may print, save, and share listings.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy the directory to build a competing database or a commercial product. If you want the data, ask us — we would rather share it deliberately.
- Do not use contact information from listings to send marketing, solicitations, or unsolicited bulk messages to the agencies listed.
- Do not attempt to interfere with, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems.
- Do not submit false information or impersonate an agency.
Accounts for service providers
People looking for help never need an account. Accounts exist only so staff at listed agencies can claim their organization's listing and keep it accurate.
- You may claim a listing only if you are authorized to speak for that organization.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything done under your account.
- Information you publish through a claimed listing must be accurate and must not include personal information about the people your organization serves.
- We may review, edit, unpublish, or revoke a claim at any time in order to protect the accuracy of the directory.
The 211 chat assistant
The chat assistant on this site is operated by United Way of Greater Cleveland to help you find resources faster. It is an automated tool, not a substitute for a 211 navigator, and it can be wrong. For anything urgent or complicated, call 211 and speak with a person. Please do not type sensitive personal details — such as Social Security numbers, medical history, or immigration status — into the chat.
Links to other organizations
Listings link out to agency websites, maps, and application portals we do not control. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or conduct.
Accessibility
We build this site to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA and to work with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and text zoom. Accessibility is ongoing work, not a finished state. If any part of the site is a barrier for you, tell us at [privacy contact email] and we will fix it and get you the information another way in the meantime — including by phone at 211.
Disclaimers and limits on liability
This site is provided free of charge, as a public service, "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, United Way of Greater Cleveland and its staff, volunteers, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or from the acts or omissions of any agency listed here. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. When we do, we update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
